My name is Nina.
I grew up just north of Pittsburgh in a home shaped by music, art, and storytelling – where classical piano, Aerosmith, and Italian food all shared the same space. Creativity was never confined to a single discipline; it was simply how life was experienced.
I was formally trained as a classical pianist, but visual art was always close at hand. My aunt, a gifted painter and illustrator, taught me to see the world through an aesthetic lens at an early age. My father, while first and foremost a guitarist, was also a renowned stained glass artist. Together, these influences shaped my understanding of composition, color, balance, and emotion.
While I explored fine art throughout high school, I found myself equally drawn to technology. It wasn’t until college that those worlds fully merged. After studying classical piano performance at NYU, I completed my undergraduate degree in music technology at Duquesne University and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Multimedia.
After college, I spent several years honing my skills as a web and graphic designer, working with organizations such as iHeartRadio and the Pittsburgh Symphony, and later serving as a lead designer at Giant Ideas, one of Pittsburgh’s top advertising agencies.
In 2011, I felt an undeniable pull to branch out on my own. By combining my background in music, design, and media, I founded Minor Keys Media with the intention of helping small businesses find their voice and show up with clarity, confidence, and intention.
Today, Minor Keys Media serves as a creative studio for brands that value thoughtful design, strong storytelling, and work that feels as good as it looks.
